Cleaning your bong or water pipe doesn't have to be expensive or hard.

One of the most important things you can do for the flavor of your smoke and the ease on your lungs is to use a clean piece when you smoke.  While some small bubblers can be impossibly hard to clean, your water pipe and your bong do not need to be.  You do not even need any special equipment or cleaners, as some cleaners can really break the bank.  The following is a straightforward list of what you need to thoroughly clean your water pipe and have it looking as good as new.

  • Rubbing Alcohol (shoot for 91% or higher, can be found at any retail store)
  • Epsom Salt (also at retail stores)
  • Cotton Swabs -or- plastic wrap and rubber bands.

Whether you are cleaning a water pipe or a bong, the easiest thing to do is to pour rubbing alcohol and epsom salt into your pipe.  I fill mine about 1/3 full as I use the BrainForest water pipe, but if you are cleaning a bong, fill the water chamber about 1/3 full.

If you are cleaning the BrainForest Portable Water Pipe, I find it is easiest to use a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol to clean the bowl, the chamber your bowl sits in and the mouthpiece.  It only takes a minute or two and will have your water pipe looking brand new.  Run it under hot water when you are done.

If you are cleaning a bong or water pipe and would like to use plastic wrap and shake, all you need to do is cover the holes thoroughly with plastic wrap and a rubber band and shake.  I suggest doing the shake method outside in case of a plastic wrap mishap.

When you are done, simply run your water pipe or bong under hot water and let dry.

The BrainForest water pipe was designed to have an unbreakable bowl design that will help during usage and cleaning.  It can be endlessly cleaned with a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol.  No epsom salt is needed.  Unbreakable bowls are a feature is important to many.  The other wonderful feature is the lack of need for wire or mesh screens.  The holes in the bowl filter and are easily cleanable.
